Ambode(Gram Lentil pakoda/Fritteres)

This is one of my fav snack,now is my kid also liked it very much.


Ingredients:
Split Bengal Gram lentil(Chana Dhal) 1 1/2 cup
Urad lentil 1/2 cup
Coriander Seed 2 1/2tsp
Cumin Seed 1 tsp
Chilly Powder 1tsp
Fresh coconut slice 1/4 cup
Curry leaves finely chopped 10-12
Fresh ginger 1 inch(chopped)
Asafoetida a pinch
Cooking soda(baking) 1/4 tsp
Fresh Coriander 3-4 tsp finely chopped(optional)
Leon 1/2(juice)
Salt to taste
Oil for Deep frying




Preparation:

Soak both the lentil separately in water for an hour. Then drains out the water. First add urad lentil coriander, Cumin Ginger cooking(Baking) soda and Asafoetida in a blender and make smooth paste. Transfer the paste in to a mixing bowl



Then add gram lentil and blend, don't make smooth paste,it should make rough use the minimum amount of water possible while blending,




add this to urad lentil paste.Also add chopped curry leaves,fresh coriander, chilly powder,salt and lemon juice, mix well to prepare amdode dough.Make small balls from the dough(around 1TBSP each).Heat the oil in frying pan.Now flatten the dough balls little by hand and keep on Greece plate.



Once the oil is heat dip the ambode in oil and fry them till golden brown.Then take out and serve hot....




This can be stored 2-3 days in room temperature....
