Banana bus /Mangalore buns


Ingredients

   2 bananaripened

  • 1 or 2 tbsp sugar
  • ¼ cup yogurt
  • 1 tsp cumin / jeera
  • pinch of baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 cup maida
  • oil for deep frying

How to make

Make small pieces of Banana and grind it a blender along with sugar and blend in to smooth paste.

In a large mixing bowl add this paste yogurt, cumin, baking soda and salt.

Combine well with a help of spoon

Now add 2 cup maida and prepare dough.knead for 5 minutes or till dough turns smooth,grease the dough with a tsp of oil.cover and rest in warm place for 3 to 4 hours .

 Now knead the dough slightly and pinch a ball sized dough.Dust with some maida and roll slightly thick than poori.Deep fry the buns in hot fry till banana poori turns dark golden brown in colour both side.serve the banana buns / mangalore buns  with chutney or plain.

Doughnuts (updated version/improved version)

Ingredients

1/2 cup milk + 3 tbs

  • 1 1/2 cup maida plus extra for dusting
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp instant yeast
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt

How to make

Take flour, salt, baking powder, yeast, sugar in a mixing bowl. Mix well.

Make a dent, add melt butter, warm milk.Mix and make a sticky dough. Adjust milk or flour as needed.Knead for 5 minutes and keep aside in a warm place, covering the bowl with lid or wrap.

Once the dough is double in size a(1 to 2 hours depending on the temperature), punch and knead again smoothly. Grease hands to avoid stickiness.

Take a large plastic sheet ,sprinkle flour and spread out the dough to thick sheet.

Using a lid or round cookie cutter, cut out into circles. Use a smaller lid/ cookie cutter to punch hole inside the disc.Work on the remaining dough and repeat to finish the dough using same process.

Heat oil in a flat bottomed pan and drop the doughnuts carefully into the oil. Few per batch depending on the size of pan. Use medium or low heat while frying.Cook both sides until golden in colour.coat allwall doughnuts byfby grain sugar and arrange in wire rack/ box.you Fry  also cut out center part of the dough and enjoy the home made fresh Eggless Doughnuts.





Veg pulav




Hello everyone...I am back after long 4 yrs gap.I really wanted to continue my blog..but due to so many other things I was not able to do so.But during this lockdown I decided to restart it againand here I am with very simple yet delicious recipes which is very much favourite in my family Veg pulav..Here is the recipe.enjoy



Ingredients

2 cup basmati rice
1table spoon Sunflower oil
2 tsp ghee
1 medium onion, peeled and chopped
salt as per taste
 green beans cut
1 carrot, peeled and finely chopped
100g green peas, thawed if frozen soaked if it is dry
4 cup water
1 1/2 tsp Ginger garlic paste
Coriander leaves few+mint leaves few+green chillies (as per your taste)make a fine paste
2 tsp Garam masala
1 TSP pulav masala
2tsp curd
3/4tsp sugar
3/4 tbsp lemon juice

Method
Dry roast or roast the rice by adding 1tsp ghee untill it slightly change the colour

Heat the oil and ghee together in a cooker,add capsicum and fry then add onions and fry stirring frequently until soft. Stir in the giver garlic paste and stir.now add green paste(chilly coriander and mint) and curd .stir properly.now add Garam masala and pulav powder.turmeric.add little water and stir so that it won't get burn.

 Now add all the vegetables to the cooker. Sautee for 2-3 mins then put rice and water and stir well.
Now add salt sugar and lemon juice and stir in properly and 1 tsp extra oil or ghee and stir again
 Bring to medium flame, then cover and cook for about 10 mins or 1whishil.
One the cooker is cool down ready to serve...
