Green Puav

When I was working in Bangalore...we had Restaurant near office and we use to eat this kind of pulav..which they use to call as veg Hyderabadi Biriyani..It use to be so yummy and very very hot..so last week I tried making the same kind of rice item,,,,,It turned out well,,,not exactly the same taste..but 80% near to that pulav.....anyways Next time if I go there,,I will eat that pulav for sure..here is my recipe.

Ingredients:
Spinach 1bunch(washed and finely chopped)
Few Fresh Mint leaves chopped
Green chilly 5-6(or as per spice
Basumati rice 2 cup
Onion and tomato 1 each chopped
Chopped beans 1cups and green peas 1cup
garlic cloves 5(chopped)
Fennel seed 1tsp
garam masala 2tsp(optional)
cooking oil 6-7 tsp
Tamarind paste 1/2 tsp
ghee 1tsp(optional)
salt to taste and sugar 1/2 tsp
water 4 cup


Preparation:

Mix both chopped green leaves in a blender along with green chilly and garlic cloves and make paste..
Heat oil in a thick bottom pan add fennel seed saute for 30 seconds and add chopped onion,fry till onion turns to golden brown then add tomato fry for 1min then add chopped beans and green peas saute for 2-3 mins and then add green leaves paste saute again for 2-3mins then add garam masala powder, salt sugar tamarind paste mix well add also add rice and water(use the same cup which is used to measure rice).Stir well to mix everything and cover with lid.cook in high medium flame for 3-4mins.


Once the rice is half cooked reduce to medium low flame and


cover with lid Cook till rice and everything is cooked then turn of the heat..keep covered for 5-7 mins.Once done open the lid and mix everything well and transfer the rice in to serving bowl,

serve hot rice with raitha...


or can serve only green pulav....
